bullet

bullet

RANWC Mission Statement — "The REALTOR® Association of NorthWest Chicagoland is dedicated to serving its members by developing and enhancing members' competency, ethics, and professionalism; ensuring members' ability to conduct their real estate business; and protecting and promoting private property rights."

Beginnings—Ken Hager & Helping Our Heroes Start

Ken Hager (Seminars Inc.) said to several fellow RANWC Affiliate Committee Members that is was rewarding to experience business success but it is more rewarding to help those less fortunate. Ken's statement predicated his suggesting that the RANWC Affiliates/Affiliate Committee create a charitable organization under the RANWC Corporate umbrella—the name was Helping Our Heroes—the goal...to help Active Duty Illinois Reservists and National Guardsmen/Women with real estate related financial hardships.

In 2004, Ken Hager and several RANWC Affiliate Committee members appeared at a RANWC Board Meeting, presented the Helping Our Heroes charity idea, and was granted unanimous approval by the Board. In 2007, Helping Our Heroes expanded it's charitable work to include Illinois Military Personnel, Veterans, Firemen/Women, and Policemen/Women experiencing real estate related financial hardships.

Unfortunately Ken did not see Helping Our Heroes expanded charitable efforts—he passed away in 2005. Yet his legacy lives on and continues to grow. Ken enjoyed success yet thrived on helping others. His life philosophy, which he practiced, was
Live - Laugh - Love.

Thank You Ken Hager for your generous guidance

Who is the RANWC Affiliate Committee

bullet

The RANWC Affiliate Committee is a grouping of businesses offering products and services useful to Real Estate Agents and Real Estate Offices.

bullet

The Affiliate Committee helps the RANWC Real Estate Agent members by providing a one-stop source for products and services.

Why are we doing this

bullet

RANWC and the Affiliate Committee learned about our Illinois Public Service individuals (active duty Illinois Military Personnel, Veterans, Firemen/Women, and Policemen/Women) financial plight and its impact on their home-related expenses.

bullet

RANWC and the Affiliate Committee felt obligated to HELPING OUR HEROESTM—it's the least we can do to help them.

bullet

Hoping for legislative help—we also hope that there is continued and further Federal and State legislation that'll help our service personnel experiencing difficult financial situations, in addition to raising money to help our heroes with their financial distress.

How will you benefit

bullet

Feel good about helping our active duty Illinois Military Personnel, Veterans, Firemen/Women, and Policemen/Women who experience extraordinary home-related expenses.
